A Ferrari has a presence like no other car on the road. All around the world when someone sees the prancing stallion in their rear-view they instantly know what it is. And because of it's world renown racing history they know it is a fast car. Which sometimes it can be quite pleasant behind the wheel knowing this. However no one desires unwanted attention from the local law enforcement. Which presumes to be quite an issue in these world famous sports cars. Regardless nothing can compete with the feeling of driving a new Ferrari down the highway and every car around you knows to move out of your way because they know and respect that prancing stallion badged on the car. And sure, we all here know that Mr. Enzo only started selling cars to the public to fund his racing addiction and would probably blow his head off if he saw what his company was doing today epically it's PR department.
Now, we know there are loads of faster cars out there other than Ferrari's. Including tuners and sleepers etc., but not that many are as widely known as a Ferrari. Don't get me wrong I lust after sleepers, I would love to own a E63 AMG or RS6 Avant, however I couldn't imagine I being the same as blasting down the highway in a F12 and having (almost) everyone move out of your way. (For the most part at least.) Sure you'll be more susceptible to speeding tickets, but that is a part of the status of the car.
I personally, have never been fortunate enough to get behind the wheel of such a car, but I can dream can't I?
My question to you is what other cars do you think could cause this sensation?

Unless you intended to say "It is Presence" you should remove the apostrophe in the title. The possessive as in "belonging to it" is "its.

Ha. Yeah was trying to be helpful rather than a jerk. You're right though. What else should be expected from the sorts of people who can rattle off engine and chassis codes of cars that many have forgotten existed.

Agreed. There are often punctuational mistakes. I know I am guilty of a few. Mostly due to not paying attention. This was not meant as a dig toward you. Just poking fun at us all. Not a jerk at all.
Helpful? Indeed. For most of us it is simply a reminder that we had a momentary lapse.

I've realized more than once that something I typed on my cellphone was mangled by auto correct, same thing with word-processing software and its "helpful suggestions." Someone has to care when it feels like most of the internet has thrown spelling, punctuation and basic grammar out the window.

Lamborghini has just as much presence as Ferrari, if not more so, by design. Lamborghini takes all of Ferrari's careful styling and performance elegance and then jumps up and down on it like a five-year old, making gaudy cars that somehow still look as good as and perform as well as the offerings from their progenitor and arch-nemesis.
Any classic American car in excellent condition will also rival Ferrari for command of the road. They just stick out, even over here in the States, owing to their nostalgic aesthetic and deep, earth-pounding rumble.

The Ford GT40 and GT are my favorites right now. You get the best of both worlds: mid-engine layout but more rare than a mid-engine Ferrari.

True. Even here in Brazil, where they have no history at all and are just "old cars" for most people, they still command an unusual amount of attention. I remember once, a few eyars ago, posting about how I was waslking down a street in one of the better off parts of my town and came across a small group of people, both new and old, gawking over a dark blue 67 Mustang GT fastback. The car wasn't pristine, as in garage queen condition, but it was clearly well taken care of and used regularly. It just sat there, totally unassuming, under its slightly faded blue coat, next to far more exotic stuff, and yet people were all over it. I'll never forget that day because I, too, am a Muscle Car fan with no explanation.

Is the 612 Automatch approved? I know it has 2 seats too many and doesn't command the road like a 599 or F12. But it's relatively cheap to buy these days. My old man is pretty happy with his (I suggested he buy it, so I either get the credit or the blame for the recommendation, haha)

How did this go from F12->612?
But the 612 is a great GT.

Anything that is not an Avant is not Automatch approved, lol. Just kidding, while the 612 was not the most loved Ferrari it is still a Ferrari...with a V12! So if your dad loves it and got a good deal...that is Automatch approved! :D

I dunno, just saw Automatch's comment and wanted to get his opinion since he likes to recommend cars to people.
Also the funny thing about the 612 that relates to the post's topic - it has to have the least amount of presence of any modern Ferrari. When I'm in the car it doesn't get a ton of attention from other drivers. A lot of people don't know what it is so it doesn't stick out to them, especially since it's not a bright color. Which is a good thing for my old man since it's his DD. Causing a commotion gets old when it happens on a daily basis. I once drove a red Boxster S loaner that got way more attention than the 612.

Haha. Well if I win the lotto I'll have it converted to a wagon to make it look more like an Avant :D Oh wait, it would be cheaper to just swap it with an FF...

Hell a Lotus Elise stands out TONS where I live. And they're like high 20s, low 30s. They stand out more than a debadged M3.

The Elise is a badass car. It will always stand out no matter how cheap it gets. It looks like a mini alien attack vehicle. My friend's dad had one that I got to ride in. What a go kart on steroids.
Where I live a debadged E46 M3 is super stealth. I have one and only gearheads know what it is. Everyone else think it's a cheap old bimmer. When a girl I know saw it for the first time she gave me shit for it - "why did you buy that thing?". It was pretty funny

I feel like it's comparable to something like a KTM Xbow or Ariel Atom. it just looks and feels so damn primal, and connected. I honestly wouldn't mind picking one up at <15k once I get out of school, and DDing it for a couple of years.
Where I live, a debadged E93 M3 is considered the same as a E93 328i. Weird. It's like nobody notices the gaping fascia or aggressive quad exhaust.

It would be a good buy. It is like an Xbox or Atom. And we're unlikely to see something like it again. The Elise was great value, even when paying new prices. I doubt Lotus will be able to sell a car like it again at that price point. Safety regulations keep going up and it won't be possible to have a production car that light and cheap.
This is my theory on why the E9X M3 cars don't get much attention - the M Sport line. BMW sold so many M Sport cars that they diluted the looks of the actual M3.

M Sports and M's are different. M Sports still keep that inward sloping front bumper, and only had different rims. That gaping front on the true Ms stands out a ton. And the power dome, etc.
I guess to a non-enthusiast, it's the same car as their dad's 535i or mom's 328i.

Oh I agree. I can pick out the differences from a mile away. But to a non-enthusiast they can look pretty similar.
In a way it doesn't bother me. While it makes my car look less special to a non-gearhead I didn't buy the car to get looks. I like it when a car that's driven a lot blends in, especially if I'm parking in a sketchy area.

I'm glad of that too. Less hate. Seeing how much cars get keyed up in my area, it's probably a nice thing nobody can recognize the debadged Ms.

Depends on where you park. The better parts of town, great. Don't take any decent (=european, new or old) car into the shadier parts of town, though. Don't park cars downtown, either. Or at the ends of parking lots - more damage is actually done.
I wish I lived where I used to live...Berkeley had such nice people. At least cars never got damaged lol.

You think the team will stay when the owner passes away?

Yeah they've been bad for a while. Good you're not a fan. I read the owner is really old and will not commit to selling to someone who wants to keep the team there. A new owner might move it to a bigger market like LA

Mec. SLS has some serious presence on the road. Not just when it's just puttering around, but when they open the taps on the highway, it yells GTFOMW!
